Bedtime!

Today I'm talking about bedtime.
Don't ask.
I just felt like sharing, kay?

For those of you who may not know this about me,
I'm no night owl. In fact, I go to bed earlier than most great-great-grandmothers.
Trust me.

Even in college, my roommates could tell you,
I'd be all pooped out by 8pm.
Yes, 8pm.

E-I-G-H-T  O-C-L-O-C-K.

& I'm still that way.
I just like my sleep.
I work with children all day.
I need the energy.

OK. OK.
I could give a line of excuses all day,
but today's post isn't about excuses.

It's about the fact that Scott & I used some of our XMAS $$
to buy a small TV for our bedroom,
& how scared I was to do it because I felt like it might mess up our marriage.

I know, I'm weird.
I just like my quality time with Scott
& didn't want a silly TV to get in the way..
cause, I'm not good at sharing.

BUT, we got one.
Because when I get in bed at 9pm
(9pm because I compromised with Scott
& he basically won't allow me in bed before then unless I'm sick!)

Anyway, when I get in bed at 9pm,
he gets in bed with me and lays with me until I fall asleep,
because I'm clingy and I need that.. to fall asleep.
It's a bad habit.  But it's fine. I love it.

Scott would agree to this!

And anyway,
he wanted some entertainment while he just sits in bed.
Hence the TV.

& guess what people?

I have now been sitting up with him,
watching our new favorite series on Netflix "Rules of Engagement"
(thanks Nicole)
& we both are lucky to get to sleep before midnight!

Oh well! It's actually been kinda fun!  =D

  1. LOL...the TV in the bedroom is a point of contention in my marriage. When we were dating my husband had a TV in the bedroom at his apartment and he'd like to fall asleep watching it. I on the other hand cannot fall asleep if there is any noise! So basically I'd end up staying awake way longer than I wanted because he was still watching the stupid TV.

Once I sealed the deal with an engagement ring I banned the TV in the bedroom and it's been that way ever since! :-P

  2. I love laying in bed watching TV with the hubby! A TV in the bedroom will only "ruin" a marriage if you let it. And I know you guys won't :)

  3. haha, that was our "hump" too! E bought a new big screen for the living room, so that TV went into our bedroom. I too was super nervous about it, but roles were reversed! E gets up for work at 4:30, so he wants to be in bed by 8, 8:15. And I end up laying there on my social media all night long. He thought the TV would be better...well guess what, he can't fall asleep with it on! Turd. It has been helpful some nights when we want to crawl in bed and watch a movie!

  5. Don't worry sometimes I also can be a little needy and need Travis to lay with me in order to fall asleep. Its funny because, Travis and I can not go to sleep without the noise of a TV. LOL We also watch "Rules of Engagement" together before falling asleep, it's awesome!

  6. We have a TV and we watch quite a bit of TV and movies there - no kids and we can be where we want to be if we crash out...

I go to bed early too! (always have)

  7. I hate tv's in the bedroom. I guess because with my ex it just made things between us worse. All he ever did was watch tv. Why do men love it so much???

OMG I now know what the dead arm feels like thanks to having a baby, lol.
